Chinese New Year

Had been busy visiting today since morning..

Brought baby out to visit her Great grandmother, grandparents and grand godmother. Everyone is so excited about her. Everyone's feedback is that she is so adorable and cute.

Here's her photos for today...

Here's Joelle with her cute little headband... looking very ladylike...

Blogger is hanging up on me... keep showing me error messages. Will load pictures next time... no internet connection at home these few days... blogging from MacDonalds now...

I must... I Must....I MUST

Reduce my tummy...

It is really embrassing to be asked on 3 occassions whether am I pregnant...

First occassion was last Monday, I was at Jurong Point buying something at a Singapore Mint booth and after I had paid for my purchase, the cashier asked if I was pregnant. I replied that I am recovering from it.

2nd occassion was on Thursday evening, James and I were returning home, on the MRT, a lady actually wanted to give up her seat to me... I was refusing because it is not like I am still pregnant but she was like... "You are..." and she was looking at my tummy... It does looks I am still 3 months pregnant.

3rd occassion was on Friday night, we went to NTUC to buy drinks and the lady cashier was telling me to be careful when I reach out to take the bag. I replied her absent-mindedly then I realised what she was talking about.... Told James and we had a good laugh as we walked back home.

Must step up my efforts to trim my tummy....

Reunion dinner

Had the family reunion dinner last night. All the usual dishes were served.

My relatives were commenting about Joelle being chubby. I think it is her cheeks, they are so pinchable (me making up this word). Cheryl and Jasper will kiss her whenever they get the chance to do so.

Jasper had a swell time at the dinner last night when he played with his cousins, they were running all over the place after the 2nd dish which is the roast suckling pig if I am not mistaken.

Cheryl got to know her aunt May, which is my cousin, who is the same age as herself.

Imagine calling someone your age auntie but my extended family is like that, because my grandfather is the oldest among his siblings with 2 younger brother and 1 younger sister. My grandaunt and my aunt, who is my father's sister is only 1 or 2 years apart. So you can imagine some of my uncles and aunts are only a few years older than myself. In fact, the youngest aunt in the family is only 1 year older than me. I have got quite a handful of cousins who is older than her.

Anyway, I will be on leave tomorrow, last minute shopping and stuff. Family reunion dinner on Saturday night (immediate family members only), will see if we can grab some last minute shopping at Chinatown after the dinner, Chinese New Year visiting, followed by lunch in the afternoon. Hopefully can get home by 4 in the afternoon to rest.

Going to eat my lunch now...

Family reunion dinner tonight

The family reunion dinner is tonight. The whole of my father's side of the family will be meeting for dinner. It is like a mini reunion before Chinese New Year.

Meeting James at Bishan to pick up something before going for dinner. At least we don't need to rush home to pick the kids up. Mum is bringing them there.

Need to pack up. Leaving office soon...

Computer crashed yesterday...

Was at work yesterday and noticed that there is a new icon on my desktop. I was like... who had used my computer when I was away again...

Anyway, startup was slow, getting in my email was slow, opening the applications was slow, everything just slows down. I put up with the slowness till a warning sign kept popping up telling me that I don't have enough disk space. Went and got IT helpdesk to check out the computer. It got worse, my IE icon disappeared, my document folder disappeared, and a few other application icons disappear. Helpdesk told me that he would continue tomorrow (which is today). But the poor man is sick..... AAARRRGGGHHH.......

Got another IT personnel to help me. Got a few of my icons back but all my links that I had saved in "My Favourites" are gone with the wind. Have to start the process of adding all the blogs that I read back. I need to save them somewhere safe this time. I think I have lost a lot of my personal links and will need quite some time to get them back... What a way to start my first week back at work.

Was out till late last night and when we got home, baby was asleep, when she woke up, I went over to talk to her and she recognise me and gave me a big smile. Smart of her at about 2 months to start recognising people. Mum was saying that as she was at home, Amy didn't bring her down when she went to fetch Cheryl and Jasper home from school. Joelle seems to know that the time for her little outing for the day was missing and started to cry after Jasper was home and only stopped when Amy carried her for a little walk outside. Just walking up and down the corridor is good enough for her.

Heard something yesterday through the office mill.... knew that it would happen but didn't expect it to be that fast. Hopefully, the news will be a good one but then it can't get any worse that now I suppose.

Finally back at work

Yes... I am back at work today... Don't have internet connection at home due to a faulty modem so no blogging for the past two week or so. Missed reading all the blogs that I normally read everyday so there is a lot to catch up on.

Ha, can you imagine, first day back at work and there is a ready an urgent and over due report that needs to be submitted... sigh...

But on the bright side, at least I am awake the entire time I am in the office despite only getting to sleep close to 2am this morning. So I am surviving on about 3 hours of sleep. The cup of coffee this morning helped to keep me awake, been so long since I last drank coffee in the morning.

Need to finish reading the rest of the emails and attachments... Hopefully can get to load pictures soon.

Tired

Can't imagine if Joelle were to stay awake every night from now on till 4 am... I will be looked like a panda when I return to work in a few weeks time.

Last night, when she still refuse to sleep at 12am, I was like, never mind, she will go to sleep real soon but as the hours drag on from 1 to 2 to finally 4+ in the morning, I was falling asleep just rocking her in her sarong. She finally fell deeply asleep about 5 in the morning and I get to really sleep after that.

Woke up close to 12.30 this afternoon. This seems to be getting the norm nowadays. Waking up close to or after noon time. Have my lunch then get the kids to do their schoolwork.

Brought Jasper for his violin class yesterday. He request for his usual donut after class, bringing me to the shop to buy it, then we took a cab home because I can feel a headache starting.

Cindy, do try to get a copy of the Jan/Feb Fengshui World as there are the 2006 stuff that Lillian Too talked about on Sunday. Mabel and Anne, you should get it too as there are stuff there for you to follow for a better 2006, starting from the eve of CNY.

Ok, going for my nap now. Had been raining for a while now. Weather is so cooling, just right for napping.

3rd day of 2006

Can you imagine that it is already the 3rd day of 2006??!!!

Spend New Year day attending a FS (Feng Shui) talk at Suntec. Interesting to learn a few new things. Bought some stuff for the girls, James and myself.

On the 2nd day, had a small gathering at home. I think Joelle is not used to having so many people around her at once and had nightmares last night, which means that I can't get quality sleep and was up most of the night.

This morning, she seems better, at least she is not crying in her sleep that often. Bringing Jasper for his violin class later. Then I can go walkabout over at Kovan's Heartland Mall when he is having his class.

Was looking at the Almanac calendar that I bought on Sunday. It lists the good days and bad days for doing things like getting marry, commencing business, moving house, renovation and travelling. It seems that from today till Saturday, these days are no good for anything . Sunday will be better. It is lucky that I am staying home for the next few weeks.

Need to get ready to go out soon.....
